陳舜智 is the founder of the hospitality brand "DEER CHASER" and the owner of a construction company with over 26 years of history. Our backgrounds are quite similar; he studied electrical engineering while I was in science and engineering. Driven by a passion for architecture, he chose the construction industry, while I dedicated myself to the music industry.
In the early stages, he borrowed money from his father to start his business. He faced a major crisis when a developer went bankrupt, but instead of fleeing, he chose to take on the debts and resolve them one by one. This integrity gradually built an impeccable reputation, leading to the creation of his construction empire.
What is remarkable is 陳舜智’s passion for discovering Taiwan’s hidden gems. He is committed to promoting the unique value of rare landscapes. Combining his expertise in construction with a vision for leisure and culture, he entered the hospitality industry to offer a one-of-a-kind wild luxury experience, letting the world see the beauty of Taiwan.
I was honored to be invited, along with Cello Master 范宗沛, to stay at "DEER CHASER Lugu Branch" near Xitou, Nantou, at an altitude of 1,000 meters. Surrounded by vast mountain mists and forests, far from any disturbance, one can truly immerse themselves in the forest's embrace. Even more impressive is the Zen-inspired Fireplace Theme he created, allowing travelers to gather around the hearth. Whether it's the fireplace at Lugu or the "gathering-style vacation" by the waterways of "DEER CHASER Yuchi Branch," he has successfully created a space for interaction between people and architecture. I deeply admire this vision. Since DEER CHASER Lugu Branch was designed and built by 陳舜智 himself, he proves to be not only an outstanding leader but also a brilliant designer.
