Awarded in the 2025 Michelin Guide as a recommended lodging, DEER CHASER Lugu Branch centers its design around the concept of gathering by the fire, offering a vacation experience built on warmth, connection, and the timeless ritual of gathering around the hearth.
Hidden within the forests of Xitou at an elevation of 1,000 meters, Lugu Branch is embraced by vast mountain mists and an endless sea of trees, completely removed from the disturbances of the outside world. From dawn to dusk and through all four seasons, guests can witness breathtaking shifts in the landscape. The 360-degree observation deck captures nature’s beauty on the grandest scale.

Parking Information
DEER CHASER Lugu Branch is located along the main road leading into Xitou. For guests arriving by car, we recommend driving up to the Xitou Nature Education Area to make a safe U-turn, then returning in the forward direction toward DEER CHASER Yangwan. This provides a smoother and safer approach while enjoying the lush, forest-lined scenery along the way.
The parking area at DEER CHASER Lugu Branch sits on a natural hillside. The land is limited in size, and every part of the design follows the contours of the terrain. Without altering the original landscape, we preserved as much of the surrounding forest and bamboo groves as possible, allowing the space to coexist harmoniously with nature.
Instead of using standard asphalt or concrete, we opted for natural local materials. The parking lot is constructed with high-grade railway sleepers and stone, elevating the space to a unique wild-luxury aesthetic. Experienced craftsmen meticulously installed each sleeper using multiple construction techniques and steel rods to secure every piece—a labor-intensive, time-consuming process that reflects dedication and precision.
This intentional craftsmanship not only shapes a rustic and refined visual style but also ensures the environment remains untouched. By keeping the original slope, avoiding overdevelopment, and using natural materials that support soil conservation, we protect the mountain’s ecology and honor Taiwan’s precious landscapes. These efforts reflect our belief that Taiwan’s mountains and waters are treasures that deserve to be cared for by every one of us.
